Among the different types of headaches that have been reported, to have a person suffering from a cluster headache is considered very rare. A cluster headache usually strikes very quickly and without prior warnings.
Although cluster headache is considered rare, it is still important to know its symptoms so that it will not be confused with other types of headaches. The typical signs and symptoms are:
- Drooping eyelid

- Restless
- Redness in the eye on the affected side

- Occassionally nausea and sensitive to light
Cluster headache patients tend to avoid lying down as the position will worsen the pain. A typical cluster headache will last from 6 to 12 weeks. After the headache has subsided, the pain is usually totally gone leaving the patients drained of energy.
